Review for Cinematiq Instruments 2 in recording.de

Review in German language

Auszug:
Fazit

Review Forest Kingdom II at Amazona.de

Review in German language

Fazit

Sample Logic Assault first review

Review at Soundsandgear.com

So what’s the bottom line?

If you use impacts, transitions, sound fx, rises, falls, reverses…or any of these types of sounds in your musical creations…here’s the library to get.
Not only do you get tons of instruments to play with, but the interface is amazing in and of itself. With all the tools and animations it makes for a very usable instrument.

5subsI give ASSAULT 5 out of 5 subs, this is without a doubt a very deep and instantly rewarding library that sounds great, looks great, and is waiting to be tweaked.

Interview mit Eduardo Tarilonte bei Amazona.de

Interview in German language at Amazona.de

AMAZONa.de
Hi Eduardo, how did it happen that you started to program sound libraries

Hello. I started in 2005 when I composed a track using DIVA from Bela D Media. They contacted me asking for permission to use it as an official demo. Of course I agreed, and I started to compose some more demos for them.. One day, Francis Belardino (CEO), who knew how much I liked virtual instruments, asked me: “would you like to produce a sample library for us”. I was shocked in the beginning, excited, but thrilled at the same time. That was a huge responsibility for me. But I said yes! I had some ideas I liked to develope and a good way was starting with a style of music I had been playing for long and loved: Celtic music. That’s how “Anthology Celtic Wind” was born and that was just the beginning of a sample library developer career.

In 2009 I left Bela D Media and started to work with Best Service, which I feel close in terms of work and friendship. We are a perfect team that have released quite a few titles together and more to come. I am happy and proud of being part of one of the pioneer companies in the virtual instruments world and one of the most renowned.

AMAZONA.de:
Your libraries are all from the ethnic side, why?

Well, I have been playing in some folk groups in the past, and that kind of music has been always something very special for me. Although as you say they are ethnic, I would say that my libraries are about rare or ancient instruments. Why? Because I found in ethnic music and many of its instruments that they really transmit magic through their sounds and that’s what sound libraries are: sound. Most of these instruments have something special which goes beyond music. That special way to touch us deeply, is what attracts me and that’s exactly what I want to record and offer to the composers to get inspired.
Anyway, more common instruments can come in the near future.

AMAZONA.de:
Do you record all the samples by yourself or are you working together with a team?

I would like to go faster and release tons of products a year, but my way is slower. Slower, but better in my opinion. I like to be in every single part of the process. It starts when some idea comes to my mind and start to look for the right musicians. Planning the recording sessions, hiring the recording studio, editing every single sample, mapping it, etc.... I do it all by myself, but in this way I make sure that everything is exactly what I want. I like to think that due to all this process, all my libraries are hand made.
I want to make sure that the soul is captured in the samples and later on, transmitted when the instrument is ready to be played.
As my motto says: “Samples with soul”

AMAZONA.de:
Your sets often contain unusual instruments. Are you searching specific for nonstandard sounds or does this happen by accident?

I like to think of sample libraries as if they were a book or movie. They have to tell something, inspire you, thrill you when you play them and be a source of inspiration, not just a bunch of samples.
I love to look for a nice title a beautiful cover...When I plan a sample library I like to think of an idea, and then look for the instruments that fit to it. Not an easy task normally.

AMAZONA.de
The market for sounlibraries is increasing rapidly. In what way are your libraries different to your competitors

Everything is overcrowded, no matter what your profession is. If there is something different in my sample libraries, maybe is that they are made with love and with an artistic point of view. I just try to be myself and not think what others do or how to compete against them. Thinking in this way, ensures you to make what you want. Everyone has its place in the sampling world, and I think I have found mine.

AMAZONA.de:
A totally differnt question: Which instruments do you play yourself?

I started playing accordion when I was around 8 years old. After that I learned keyboards. The first time I heard a synthesizer I fell in love... and in 2000, I started to learn celtic harp. Unfortunately I don’t play as often as I should, since I am a full time sample library developer, but nowadays I find more interesting the composer and developer side. Don’t miss my live concert days. Too many gigs, roads, etc...I prefer to spend my life in the studio.

AMAZONA.de:
Are you still an active Musician
As a player not any more, but as a composer I still try to find some time to keep composing.

AMAZONA.de:
What are your future plans regarding sound libraries

As you might imagine, keep releasing much more libraries. Before the end of the year, I will release “Forest Kingdom mark II”, which will include a lot of great surprises!
I feel happy being a sample library developer as it fulfills my creative side in a way I’d had never imagined. And of course together with Best Service.

AMAZONA.de:
Have you ever thought about programming Plug-Ins on synthesizer basis or will your future libraries be all sample based again

No. I really like sample based libraries. I feel much more comfortable and free. I don’t find any limit developing sample based libraries.

Thank you very much for your interview!! :-)
