Kein Zweifel, Era ist die umfangreichste Sample-Kollektion historischer europäischer
Instrumente. Aber auch in puncto Produktionsqualität und Artikulationsvielfalt
genügt sie in höchsten Ansprüchen. Dabei ist es auf vortreffliche Weise gelungen,
den charaktervollen Klang der seltenen Instrumente ausdrucksstark spielbar
zu machen. Wenn Sie historische oder Fantasy-Musik für Filme und Games produzieren,
ist diese Bibliothek wärmstens zu empfehlen.

ME überzeugt auf der ganzen Linie und vermag seine Nische hervorragend zu füllen. Eduardo Torrilentes Arbeit besticht durch eine große Liebe zum Detail, authentische Aufnahmen und einer sinnvollen Auswahl an Instrumenten, die eine große Bandbreite abdeckt und dennoch nicht überladen wirkt.
Bestimmt keine Software des täglichen Bedarfs, es sei denn, man habe einen Dauervertrag für Mittelalter-Soundtracks geangelt. Doch auch wer sich abseits dessen bewegt, was man landläufig als mittelalterliche Musik bezeichnet, findet hier Klänge, die erfrischend anders und unverbraucht klingen. ERA erschließt uns neue (also eigentlich alte), unbekannte Klangwelten und lehrt uns vor allem eines: Wer exotische Klänge sucht, braucht nicht unbedingt in Indien oder Korea zu suchen.
Die Soundscapes betrachte ich als nette Zugabe, bestimmt sinnvoll, um der eigenen Kreativität auf die Sprünge zu helfen, wenn sich die Muße mal wieder zieren sollte, unsereins zu küssen.
Alles in allem ein tolles Produkt, der Preis mag hoch erscheinen, ist aber angesichts der Qualität der Samples mehr als gerechtfertigt.

While a collection of authentic medieval instruments won't be to everyones's tastes or requirements, there's little doubt that Era perfectly fills a gap in respect to sensitively sampled authetic music instruments. Those of a more creative persuasion will undoubtedly see the musical potential behind the sounds included especially given the detail and expression behind their sampling and mapping, and for instance inspiration, the Sound Design collection is a great additional resource to an otherwise pletiful collection of instruments. Conclusion

I don’t believe there’s a product on the market that can match this libraries sound and level of detail on such a wide array of historical instruments. Eduardo Tarilonte has really hit it out of the park with the entire package. Although I have my gripes about the interface, it can be easily overlooked when there is such a wealth of opportunity within the library.

I believe this library is going to immediately appeal to video game composers as fantasy and historical music tends to be more prevalent in the medium, although many film and TV composers would have use for this library if their projects are fantasy/historical orientated.

Era Medieval Legends provides a great collection of realistic, authentic and most importantly, usable instruments. If you’re a composer looking to add some new color into your historical or fantasy music, this library is a must buy. Chris Mooney

What’s the bottom line?

Anytime Best Service releases a new product from Eduardo Tarilonte…I get excited.

I know the instruments are going to be super realistic and organic, and I know there are going to be another collection of amazing soundscapes, ambiances, and fx.

I give Era 4.5 out of 5 subs, regardless if this is your style of musical instrument or not, the quality and playability of the content just can’t be denied.

His libraries always allow me to experiment with instruments I may otherwise never encounter. Many I have no clue how to pronounce or their history….but that doesn’t stop me from playing them!

I also really dig how he gives you a quick info block on the instruments directly in the interface, really helps in exploring the content.
