Today, these great sounds have also been embraced by many contemporary artists, including Amy Winehouse, Joss Stone, Rafael Saadiq, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, and others. VINTAGE R&B features nearly 7 GB* of live-played loops, all brimming with old school attitude: funky drums, in-the-pocket bass, funk guitar, keyboards, congas, percussion, and a fat five-piece horn section with trumpet, alto sax, tenor sax, trombone, and baritone sax. Jedes der 25 Kits besteht aus bis zu 30 Einzelteilen, die Demos sind jeweils etwa 30 Sekunden lang – alles natürlich ordentlich mit Tempo und Tonart beschriftet, das erleichtert die Arbeit doch ungemein. Als Zugabe spendiert Big Fish Audio uns noch 25 gesonderte Drumkits mit Loops und Single-Hits, passend zu den Baukästen, die durch Fill-Ins und Endings für eine Extraportion Kreativpower sorgen.

Fazit: Gäbe es ein amtliches Prüfsiegel für Soul & Funk (und es würde mich nicht wundern, wenn das bei uns existiert, irgendwo unter den Aktenbergen in diesem Land schlummert sicher auch noch ein DIN-A-Funk), dann würde es groß und breit auf der Verpackung dieser Scheibe pappen. Yes Sir, das hier ist Vintage-Funk & Soul vom Feinsten, mit viel Gefühl, Liebe und Sachkenntnis eingespielt, kein Fahrstuhlfunk für die Käsetheke. Das gibt von uns das Prädikat „Pflichtanschaffung“. Und das nicht nur für Amateurfunker. Jawoll.
