EZ Drummer

bietet mehrfach mikrophonierte Aufnahmen akustischer Schlagzeuge auf höchstem Niveau und das bei einfacher Bedienung. Mit den mitgelieferten mehr als 6000 Midi Files lässt sich auch als "Nicht Drummer" in kürzester Zeit ein professioneller Drum Track erstellen und im internen Mischer lassen sich die Lautstärken und Mikrophonüberblendungen direkt einstellen. Dank der speziellen TCP Technologie nimmt die Library auf der Platte nur einen Platz von 1.5 GB ein, obwohl der Content 5 GB entspricht. 7500 Sound Files 16 Bit/ 44.1 kHz entsprechend 5 GB unkomprimierter WAV-Files.

Der "EZ Drummer" kombiniert realistische Schlagzeugsounds zusammen mit humanen Anforderungen an den Computer, hervorragenden Grooves und einem extrem günstigen Preis von 149,-- Euro. Die Samples knallen von Haus aus schon, lassen sich jedoch mit ein paar geschickten Kompressoren und EQs
noch weiter optimieren. Man kann extrem in den Sound eingreifen, nicht zuletzt durch Variieren der Overheads und Raumanteile. Der "EZ Drummer" kann insofern durchaus als die günstigere und Resourcen-sparende Version von "fxpansion BFD" bezeichnet werden, wenn er auch nicht ganz so flexibel ist, denn
Mikrofonpositionen direkt am Kessel können nicht modifiziert werden. Auf unserer Homepage gibt es in der Rubrik "Mehrwert" Drumlines zum Download. Dort sind die Unterschiede zwischen trocken gemischtem Set und viel Raumanteil deutlich zu hören. Auch Variationen mit EQ, Kompressor und Reverb sind

In the july issue of Soundonsound Magazine Paul White reviews Toontrack Music´s dfh EZdrummer. The review is, to say the least, favourable, and White is positive about all the features from the quality of sound and their versatility via the user interface to the midifiles,

".adjusting the amount of room and overhead mics in the mix, you can get anything from a general-purpose miked acoustic kit suitable for most popstyles to a fairly brash rock kit."

"The sounds also work well when triggered from an external electronic drum interface such as Roland´s V-drums."

"As to the user interface, that is now as simple and intuitive as you could hope for,."

".the vast majority of the midi drumpatterns are sensible variations on the "bread and butter" drum patterns."

He sums up EZdrummer like this, "Given its low cost, great sounds, and ease of use, I can´t see how EZ Drummer can fail to do well. There are no obvious alternatives for EZ Drummer, as most other drum virtual instruments are either philosophilcally different or more complex."


SoundOnSound on KORG pad Kontrol and dfh Superior

As if the great review for EZdrummer wasn´t enough, in the same issue Nicholas Rowland reviews the KORG pad Kontrol and comments on the KORG edition of dfh-Superior like this,
". you´ll find a special "Korgified" version of Toontrack´s well-respected DFH virtual drums software. It was my first encounter with this particular package, and I was mightily impressed. Toontrack´s intent is apparently to give you the sound of drums as they are really played, and they seem to have achieved this, offering all the nuances and countless variations of tone that you get from a single drum. You can also play around with the virtual miking of your kit, even determining the extent to which the sound of a drum 
will bleed into the mics on the rest of the kit."

Computer Music on EZdrummer - Toontrack does for drum sampling what Stradivarius did for bowed instruments.

In the july issue of Computer Music Magazine EZdrummer gets 9 out of 10 plus the Performance and Value for money awards. The review finds EZdrummer virtually flawless, quoting;

"You´re going to like this one. Seriously. You´re really going to like this one. Irrespective of whether you´re a computer music-making novice or a world-class record producer who flits between exotic studio locations on a water scooter,."

"Toontrack´s technology, which does for drum sampling what Stradivarius did for bowed instruments."
