Basics:

The DVD comes with 300 tracks out of 40 different music styles. All royalty free and ready to use. Each song consists of the complete mix, the instrumental part, the drum part, two variations and an Intro and an Outro. Those parts can be used to build up your own individual arrrangment.

Interface:

The advantage of the interface is the fast editing and the easy way to suite the material to your individual needs in tempo and pitch, while those parameters can be edited indivdually. It takes a little to get used to the circular editor but then the handling with the virtual turntable and the mouse is very intuitive. Extract loops out of a sample, create user-presets or export the material to wav, use the filter, envelopes, map modes and play samples backwards can be done within seconds.

Sound:
The embellishments of all musical circumstances do convince almost everytime. It‘s obvious that they were composed by people that have more then just a rough idea of what they were doing. „Pop“ might be a little to much like „muzak“ and here and there does the dance producer shine through. but besides that the material sounds very authentic. Especially the traditional genres beyond the dancefloor such as funk, soul, jazz, blues and all their cognated styles, also the orchestral phrases „score“. All sounds were recorded in 24-bit quality and sound like it.

Conclusion:
499 Euro / 599 USD might be a little much but you receive 300 license free tracks that can be arranged freely and pitched and stretched to your needs - which takes its time when you do it the usual way. Who is looking for a fast way to score his movies should listen to this production.

Scoretrax is a royalty-free loop playback engine pitched at anyone wanting to quickly assemble music soundtracks for audiovisual work. As such, Scoretrax´s bias is towards complete tracks rather than individual components (although drum loops and instrument parts are provided), which the user can sequence or combine with other elements to provide the required musical foundations. With more than 300 tracks to choose from and over 40 different musical styles, Scoretrax is certainly an eclectic beast, with something to cover almost every conceivable musical situation.

An effective solution for video producers wanting to use loops as ´complete tracks´ (especially given the diversity of included material), but Scoretrax is somewhat less inspiring as a music-production package.

Auf der DVD befinden sich 300 Musikstücke aus 40 Musikrichtungen, alle natürlich GEMA-frei und somit kostenfrei verwendbar. Jeder Song besteht einmal aus dem kompletten Mix, außerdem aus Instrumental Part, Drum Part, Erste Variation, Zweite Variation, Intro und Outro, aus denen das Arrangement gebildet wird.

Benutzeroberfläche:

Der Vorteil dieser Oberfläche ist ganz klar die problemlose Anpassung des Materials in Bezug auf Geschwindigkeit und Tonhöhe, wobei diese beiden Parameter getrennt geändert werden. Der kreisförmige Editor ist nur zu Beginn gewöhnungsbedürftig, das Hantieren mit der Maus auf dem viertuellen Plattenteller geht schnell in Fleisch und Blut über. Ausschnitte zum Loopen einrichten, User-Presets erstellen und als WAV speichern (um sie dann in anderen Programmen nutzen zu können), dazu Filter, Envelopes, Map Mode und die Möglichkeit, Samples auch rückwärts abzuspielen, das alles ist in sekundenschnelle erledigt.

Sound: Die Versatzstücke aus allen musikalischen lebenslagen überzeugen fast immer: die wurden ganz augenscheinlich von Leuten komponiert, die mehr als nur eine grobe Vorstellung davon hatten, was die einzelnen Stile ausmacht. „Pop“ ist vielleicht eine Spur zu sehr Begleitautomatik und auch sonst schimmert hier und da der leicht biedere Tanzmucker durch, aber sonst klingt das Material größtenteils genau so, wie man es von ihm erwartet. Besonders punkten können die Scoretrax im traditionellen Bereich außerhalb der Disco, wie etwa Funk, Soul, Jazz, Blues und deren Verwandte, auch die Orchestersachen gefallen gut, alle Sounds wurden in 24-Bit-Qualität aufgezeichnet und klingen dementsprechend gut.

Fazit: 499 Euro sind auf den ersten Blick eine Menge Holz, doch wird dafür auch einiges geboten: 300 Gema-freie Tracks, die sich zudem noch frei arrangieren und in Bezug auf Tempo und Tonhöhe anpassen lassen - dafür muss man woanders lange stricken. Wer auf die Schnelle eine professionelle Vertonung benötigt, sollte hier unbedingt mal reinhören.

Scoretrax ist eine Lizenz-Freie Loop Wiedergabe Engine für jeden, der schnell Soundtracks für Audio-Visuelle Projekte benötigt. Dadurch zielt Scoretrax eher auf komplette Tracks als auf individuelle Komponenten (obwohl einzelne Drum und Instrumental Spuren auch vorhanden sind). Der User hat die Möglichkeit verschiedene Elemente miteinander zu kombinieren und so die nötige musikalische Untermalung zu gestalten. Mit über 300 Tracks aus 40 verschiedenen Musik Styles ist Scoretrax definitiv ein vielseitiges Tool um beinahe jeden Situation musikalisch zu unterstützen.
