Obwohl die hier zugrunde liegenden CDs schon arg in die Jahre gekommen sind, lässt sich damit noch immer wunderbar arbeiten. Die Auswahl der Sounds ist gut, die stilistische Bandbreite groß – da setzt man sich auch heute noch gerne mal ran.

Sounds:
Schon die Construction Kits sind eine fette Überraschung: Statt der üblichen
vier- bis maximal achttaktigen Fragmente erwarten uns 34 komplette Songs, oft über
eine Minute lang, schön und dick instrumentiert und fast immer auch mit einem
kompletten Gesangspart. Sämtliche Tracks werden einmal tutti und einmal
aufgesplittet nach sämtlichen Einzelsounds geliefert; da kann man dann mit wenigen
Tastendrücken am Keyboard die Menge für eine ganze Weile unterhalten.
Die Maneuver decken „Alle Styles von 2 Step, Garage, Grime und Dubstep bis hin zu
Drum’n’Bass, Darkstep, Jungle, Liquid Funk u. v. m.“ ab (schreibt der Hersteller)
und übertreibt damit nicht, die stilistische Bandbreite ist enorm. Da das alles in
einem überschaubar engem Temporahmen geschieht, kann hier auch gnadenlos
gemischt und ergänzt werden, ohne dass es zu gewollt klingt – eine feine Sache.
Dazu gibt’s Drumloops und Einzelsounds zur Andickung der Soße, was den Krea-
tivfaktor noch einmal potenziert (auch wenn es da so einige Sounds gibt, bei
denen man einen Warnaufdruck „Vorsicht: Füllmaterial“ vermutet).

Fazit:
Alter schützt vor Qualität nicht: Obwohl die hier zugrunde liegenden CDs schon arg in

The Construction Kits are a big surprise. Expecting the usual 4 to maximum 8 bar tracks we receive 34 tracks of more than one minute length with a lot of nice instruments plus (almost evertime) vocals. All kits are layered in the different lines.

Age is no excuse for quality: Although this material was produced almost ten years ago it works wonderful today. The selection of samples is good and the bandwidth is huge. Still very nice to work with.

2 Step is very hot at the moment, it´s not only the number of releases that convincing that. Finaly a sample CD manufacturor has got the balls for inspiring a brand new market with hot sounds. Uebershall comes off with a 2 CD set, packed with construction kits.
The construction kits are set on the CD as complete packages containing the elements of each demotrack, but also included are the samples each kit is made with. De contents of each kit are very variating between the standard protocol but also a very uniquie sound that is hard to compare with others.
The sound quality is as it comes as always with the Uebershall products, cristal, clear and put up to the maximum of dynamic. The only miss on this set is that the set is strictly audio. In these days the technoligy almost demands a certain issue such as wav files, or maby a protocol such as Spectrasonics´ Groove Control.
But to be realistic except for the so called only "miss" the contents of this set will blow everyone. In my humble opinion it´s possible to make a hit with this set, actualy this CD set is a must have for every 2step producer. So let´s get it on and take 2 steps to your local dealer.

With UK garage showing no signs of being topped from its perch at the head of the radio playlists, there`s still plenty of scope for releasing sample CDs related to the genre. These two Best Service discs contain a whopping 30 construction kits. After a demo of the full arrangement, each is broken down into its constituent parts which are spread over several tracks. The drums are, on the whole pristine, the Rhodes shimmering, while the organ sounds have a housey tinge. Our only real quibble concerns the fact that many of these major seventh strewn kits sound similar to one another, but that`s fairly true of the genre as a whole. An ideal bandwagond jumping resource, then.
