Hintergrund
Balkan Lines verbindet die traditionelle Musik vom Bosporus bis zur adriatischen Küste (gypsy, türkisch, serbisch, griechisch, rumänisch, slawisch und andere Stile) mit den modernen, progressiven Rhythmen von heute. Dance, Club und RnB trifft süd-ost-europäische Folklore.

Balkan Grooves erfreuen sich einer immer größer werdenden Nachfrage in verschiedensten Einsatzbereichen. Von typischer Charts-Musik bishin zu unzähligen Blockbuster-Vertonungen. With years of experience in the business as  a successful producer and with his unique multi-cultural taste of  modern music, he has featured various artists of various styles since the late 80’s. Once again Ueberschall let you go wild, this time in the Balkans. Compiled in co-operation with one of the great Balkan Brass bands – Superstar Orkestar – this 3.6GB collection includes various brass and woodwinds lines along with Bouzouki, Oud, Darbucka, acoustic and electric guitars with some Gypsy style vocals/clapping. These can easily be slipped into House, RnB or indeed Hip Hop tracks with no fuss at all.

In Zusammenarbeit mit einer der größten Balkan Brass Bands - Superstar Orkestar - kommt diese 3.6 GB große Library mit verschiedenen Instrumente wie div. Brasses und Holzbläser Loops, mit Bouzouki, Oud, Darbucka, akustik und elektrischen Gitarren und mit Gypsy Style vocals/clapping. Perfekt und einfach einsetzbar in jeder House, RnB oder sogar Hip Hop Produktion.

While we admit that we’d never heard of the Superstar Orkestar or Aref Shakouri, their brass and violin playing is spot on, and the production on the disc is top-notch throughout.

Until we tried Ueberschall’s latest, the closest the Computer Music staff had come to experiencing Eastern European culture was an all-night session on GTA IV. Balkan Lines takes traditional Eastern European influences, and mixes them with contemporary dance sounds to create interesting musical fusions. While we admit that we’d never heard of the Superstar Orkestar or Aref Shakouri, their brass and violin playing is spot on, and the production on the disc is top-notch throughout.

Even if you’re not particularly fond of raved-up European folk music, there are some great sounds in this library that would work in a variety of contexts. As always with these Ueberschall libraries, we think it’s a bit of a missed opportunity that you can’t extract all the content to WAV in one go (you’ve got to audition and sequence them using the included Elastik Player), but if that doesn’t bother you, then Balkan Lines makes for an unusual and interesting diversion.

Obwohl wir zugeben müssen noch nie von dem „Superstar Orkestar“ oder „Aref Shakouri“ gehört zu haben, die Spielweise der beiden ist Superb und die Qualität der gesamten Library durch und durch Top-Of-The-Notch.

Bisher war der einzige Kontakt den die Computer Music Redaktion zu ost-europäischer Musik hatte eine all-night Session mit GTA IV. Balkan Lines verbindet traditionelle ost-europäische Musik mit moderner Tanzmusik und erzeugt somit eine interessante und neue Mischung. Obwohl wir zugeben müssen noch nie von dem „Superstar Orkestar“ oder „Aref Shakouri“ gehört zu haben, die Spielweise der beiden ist Superb und die Qualität der gesamten Library durch und durch Top-Of-The-Notch.

Selbst wenn sie nicht umbedingt auf aufgeraveten European-Folk stehen, hier ist einiges and gutem Material zu finden das in einem weiten Context einsetzbar ist. Wie immer kommt diese Library mit dem Elastik Player mit dem man den Content benutzen muss. Aber wenn einen das nicht stört kann man mit Balkan Lines eine interessante und unorthodoxe Library sein eigen nennen.
