EZ Drummer

is een multi-microfoon drum sampler, ontwikkeld voor muzikanten en producers, die op zoek zijn naar een compacte, betaalbare en vooral: bruikbare plug-in, waar nu eens géén concessies zijn gedaan met betrekking tot geluidskwaliteit of bedieningsgemak. 

Middels de gevisualiseerde drums in de EZ drummer interface kunt u klanken en drumkit constructie voorbeluisteren. De uitgebreide drag and drop midi bibliotheek (met meer dan 6000 midi bestanden) stelt de gebruiker in staat om met een paar clicks de meest heftige drumtracks te maken. Voor wie dat niet ver genoeg gaat, is er ook de mogelijkheid om microfoon overspraak en levels tussen de verschillende drums in te stellen middels de interne

mixer. De mixer staat stereo én multitrack routing richting uw host programma toe en dankzij de ‘tweede generatie’ Toontrack Percussive Compression (TPC) werden bovendien de systeemeisen beperkt tot een minimum.

De drums voor dfh EZD werden opgenomen, geproduceerd en natuurlijk ingespeeld door de beste technici en musici. Van onze pro SUPERIOR lijn werden voor EZD de ‘humanizing’ features overgenomen, waarmee onze drum samplers de lat voor digitale drum productie sprongen hoger leggen.

 • User mixer presets containing pan, volume and bleed settings can now be saved
 • Half/double tempo switch allows to preview grooves as half time/double time variants
 • The position in the groove is now indicated by a blue pointer under the text in the display
 • New graphics and scrollbar for MIDI browser allowing unlimited levels to be accessed
 • Velocity sweep controls can now be set at 255 different values (doubling resolution)

In the july issue of Soundonsound Magazine Paul White reviews Toontrack Music´s dfh EZdrummer. The review is, to say the least, favourable, and White is positive about all the features from the quality of sound and their versatility via the user interface to the midifiles,

".adjusting the amount of room and overhead mics in the mix, you can get anything from a general-purpose miked acoustic kit suitable for most popstyles to a fairly brash rock kit."

"The sounds also work well when triggered from an external electronic drum interface such as Roland´s V-drums."

"As to the user interface, that is now as simple and intuitive as you could hope for,."

".the vast majority of the midi drumpatterns are sensible variations on the "bread and butter" drum patterns."

He sums up EZdrummer like this, "Given its low cost, great sounds, and ease of use, I can´t see how EZ Drummer can fail to do well. There are no obvious alternatives for EZ Drummer, as most other drum virtual instruments are either philosophilcally different or more complex."

As if the great review for EZdrummer wasn´t enough, in the same issue Nicholas Rowland reviews the KORG pad Kontrol and comments on the KORG edition of dfh-Superior like this,
". you´ll find a special "Korgified" version of Toontrack´s well-respected DFH virtual drums software. It was my first encounter with this particular package, and I was mightily impressed. Toontrack´s intent is apparently to give you the sound of drums as they are really played, and they seem to have achieved this, offering all the nuances and countless variations of tone that you get from a single drum. You can also play around with the virtual miking of your kit, even determining the extent to which the sound of a drum 
will bleed into the mics on the rest of the kit."

In the july issue of Computer Music Magazine EZdrummer gets 9 out of 10 plus the Performance and Value for money awards. The review finds EZdrummer virtually flawless, quoting;
