Nach dem unglaublichen Erfolg von Trance ID schlägt Ueberschall wieder zu und veröffentlicht dem zweiten Teil der professionellen Trance Library. Trance ID 2 konzentriert sich ganz auf die neusten Trends der Trance Scene: Neo-, Electro-, Tech-Trance und Progressive und Minimal.

Die Construction Kits von Trance ID 2 bieten ein breites Angebot der neusten Drum Loops, Synth Patterns, Bass Lines, Chord Progressions, Atmosphere, Percussion und FX-Sounds. Ueberschall provides one more time new material for producer and djs of Trance music, Trance ID 2. While the first volume already met most of the expectations of this genre the second volume covers the latest styles such as Electro-, Tech- and Neo-Trance.

The library comes with two different folders: Construction Kits and single drums.
Each one of the 30 Kits comes with main, variation, intro and outro. All in all we have 60 Kit-variations that split up to maximum 18 single tracks each. There is a lot of genre-typical soundpotential within those 2 GB library. Plus the intuitive Elastik player allows you to manipulate each loop and suit it to your needs.

The sounds leave nothing to be desired. The diversity of the delivered material covers a wide spectrum of sounds that can even be manipulated in form of pitching and tempo change. Especially because of the high quality of sounds it‘a easy to place them in every mix.

The ryhthm section includes from deep and pumping kickdrums over displosive snares to fizzing hihats. It gives you a good chance to create the drum setup of your dreams.

This 2GB sample set comprising 30 construction kits and 1,000 loops is the successor to the original Trance ID set developed by Ueberschall and is based on the slightly baffling Elastik Player for both Mac and PC (Elastik Player comes in VST, RTAS, AU and standalone formats). It incorporates, according to the cover, the latest trends in genres such as neo, electro and tech trance, as well as elements from progressive and minimal trance – lucky they told us or we may not have picked up on these subtle differences.

Each construction kit is thoughtfully divided into a main, variation and intro/outro set. For each one you can bring elements of a loop, with the loop’s tempo indicated in its file name.

The beats in this library are suitably pumped up and stylistically range from more ambient material to harder, driving near-techno. There’s also some Robert Miles- and Faithless-alike instrumentation sounds, although the beats are harder here, with a more rigid four-to-the-floor vibe. The single drums are also provided as separate elements, although it all remains within the Elastik Player interface. You can export loops with some work but it’s rather frustrating not to get the WAVs as well as standard.

This is really a sold collection of fairly predictable trance loops, but then trance is a pretty formulaic style of music. If that’s your kind of thing, you’ll find much here in this well-produced collection to whet your whistle as you dance until the small hours in a club in Ibiza.

Ueberschall are reacting to the ever-changing face of electronic music by updating their successful Trance ID sample set with new cutting-edge techy sounds. Trance ID 2 is the second instalment of the sample library and now incorporates the latest trends in the genre such as neo, electro and tech-trance, as well as elements from progressive and minimal. Ueberschall’s Trance ID2 has been put together by Grammy-nominated DJ and producer Mike Koglin, along with some of Germany’s best-established music industry professionals: between them they’ve landed dozens of club chart smashes, earning them huge support from beat behemoths such as Tiesto and Paul Van Dyk.

With over two gigabytes of sounds, including 30 construction kits and 1,000 loops and single sounds, there is plenty to work with, and with the included Elastik Player you don’t even need an external sampler. Elastik is an easy-to-use loop player: time-stretching, pitch-shifting and filter with kill function are just the beginning of its functionality, and the manual for Elastik is comprehensive.

Speziell angepasst auf musikalische Kreationen im Bereich Trance, hält Ueberschall mit Trance ID 2 neues Klangmaterial für Produzenten und DJs bereit. Konnte die erste Version der Sample-Loop-Library den zentralen Stilelementen des Trance-Sektors bereits über weite Strecken gerecht werden, so deckt man mit der neuesten DVD auch aktuelle Ausprägungen wie Electro-, Tech- und Neo-Trance ab. Strukturell ist die Sample-Bibliothek in zwei Kategorien aufgeteilt: Construction Kits und Single Drums.

Jedes der 30 Kits liegt in den Spielarten Main und Variation vor und lässt sich mittels Intro sowie Outro einleiten oder beenden. Da sich die insgesamt 60 Kit-Varianten in bis zu 18 Einzelspuren auffächern, steckt viel genretypisches Soundpotenzial in der zwei GB großen Library, das mithilfe des sehr intuitiv zu bedienenden Elastik-Players leicht manipuliert und auf die eigenen Bedürfnisse zugeschnitten werden kann. Der optisch an ein Radar erinnernde Player arbeitet mit einem eigenen Sample-Format, weshalb für stärkere Eingriffe ins Klanggeschehen die entsprechende Passage in einen Sequencer gerendert werden muss.

In klanglicher Hinsicht bleiben mit Trance ID 2 kaum Wünsche offen. Die Vielfalt des hier gebotenen Materials deckt ein großes Feld an genretypischen Sounds ab, die bei Bedarf auch stärker verfremdet werden können und somit das Anwendungsgebiet der Library enorm erweitern. Auch aufgrund ihrer hohen Klangqualität lassen sich die Sounds sehr gut im Mix platzieren und haben genug Durchsetzungskraft und Charakter.

In der Rhythmus-Sektion findet sich von druckvollen bis pumpenden Kickdrums über knallende Snares bis zu zischenden HiHats eine gute Auswahl zur Konfiguration des Wunsch-Drumsetups.

Der Weg zum eigenen Track wird vor allem mit den übersichtlich in Einzelspuren aufgebauten Construction Kits deutlich erleichtert. Die Sounds klingen insgesamt unverbraucht und lassen sich praxisgerecht im eigenen Mix platzieren.

Dieses 2 GB Sample Set überzeugt mit 30 Construction Kits und 1.000 Loops und wurde als Nachfolger von Ueberschalls Trance ID deklariert. Die Library kommt mit dem Elastik Player für Mac und PC (VST, RTAS, AU und StandAlone) und beinhaltet, laut Cover, sowohl Styles wie Neo-, Electro- und Tech-Trance als auch Elemente von Progressive und Minimal Trance - zum Glück sagen sie das und wir müssen die feinen Unterschiede der Styles ncht selber heraus suchen.

Jedes Construction Kit ist sorgfältig unterteilt in einen Main, Variation und Intro / Outro Part. Jeder Teil stellt die einzelnen Elemente aus einem Loop zur Verfügung mit Informationen über Tempo und Tonart im Filename.

Die Beats in der Library sind pumpend und stilistisch von ambient artiegen Material bis hin zu härteren, technoiden Sounds. Einige der Instrumentalisierungen erinnern außerdem an Robert Miles und Faithless obwohl die Beats in diesem Fall härter sind und einen ausgeprägteren Four-To-The-Floor Charakter besitzen. Die Single Drums sind in diesem Fall auch vorhanden jedoch alles unter Obhut des Elastik Player Interfaces. Man kann die einzelnen Samples zwar exportieren es ist allerdings schon ärgerlich, das man das Material nicht sofort als wav zur Verfügung hat.

Dies ist eine massive Sammlung aus eher berechenbaren Trace Loops, allerdings ist Trance eh eine sehr berechenbare Musik. Wenn Trance genau den Geschmack trifft, findet sich einiges in dieser gut produzierten Sammlung um die Pfeifen anzufeuchten und in einem Ibiza Club zum trällern zu bringen.

Ueberschall reagiert auf das immer wieder wechselnde Gesicht der elektronischen Musik indem sie ihr erfolgreiches Trance ID sample Set mit neuen Sounds bestücken. Trance ID 2 ist der zweite Nachzügler der Sample Library und beinhaltet diesmal die neusten Trends des Genres wie z.B. Neo, Electro und Tech-Trance, als auch Elemente von Progressive und Minimal. Ueberschall‘s Trance ID2 wurde zusammengestellt von DJ und Produzent Mike Koglin zusammen mit einigen von Deutschlands etabliertesten Produzenten: Jeder von ihnen hat schon dutzende von Club Smashern gelandet und sich den Respekt und Support von Größen wie Tiesto und Paul Van Dyk erarbeitet.

Bei über zwei Gigabyte an Sounds, 30 Construction Kits und 1000 Loops und Single Sounds ist genug Material zum Arbeiten vorhanden. Mit dem integrierten Elastik Player wird nicht mal ein externen Sampler benötigt. Elastik ist einfach zu bedienender Sample Player: Time-Stretching, Pitch-Shifting und Filer mit Kill Funktionen sind nur der Anfang seiner Fähigkeiten, mehr finden sich in dem übersichtlichen Handbuch.
