The Transient Designer plugin from SPL is based on their original analog processor — one of the most innovative concepts in pro audio over the past 2 decades. A modern studio classic depended on by audio professionals around the world.
The SPL Transient Designer Plus is for the mixing engineer who wants to shape and control impulsive sounds without the need for compression. While a similar effect can be achieved using a compressor, the level-dependency and time parameters limit the ability to maintain a certain amount of dynamics within a mix. Transient Designer Plus changes that by allowing impulse control along with sidechain filtering and triggering, just like any compressor would, but better.
Only two controls are needed to completely reshape the attack and sustain characteristics of a sound: Attack can be amplified or attenuated by up to 15dB while Sustain can be amplified or attenuated by up to 24 dB. This Analog Code® plugin is based on SPLs original analog Transient Designer, which established the revolutionary concept for level-independent dynamics processing.
Thanks to the level-independent processing, setting a threshold is not necessary. Other common controls of dynamic processing such as ratio and time-based parameters are automated and optimized adaptively in a very musical way.
The Analog Code®
SPL hardware products can be found in the worlds most renowned facilities, and have become a staple for audio professionals ranging from home studio owners to top mastering engineers. With the growth of computer based audio systems, the need for the SPL sound in plugin form has also grown. With Analog Code® plugins, that coveted SPL sound is now available right inside your DAW.
During listening tests of this technology, a hardware developer remarked that SPL had “cracked the Analog Code! and in the process, coined the name of SPLs software product line.
